85% of all payments in Portugal are made through Multibanco, making it the most widely used payment method in Portugal. It is offered everywhere, including supermarkets, airports and museums. The payment method is also a user-friendly way to handle tax matters in Portugal.

Multibanco is owned by SIBS (Sociedade Interbancária de Serviços S.A.) and is offered by more than 11,000 ATMs as a payment method in Portugal. Besides withdrawing money, Multibanco also allows you to print bank statements online, pay bills, buy train tickets, recharge transportation tickets and even top up cell phone balance. Credit cards

Credit cards are also a common payment method in Portugal. The most popular credit cards in Portugal are Mastercard, VISA, American Express and Diners.
