BLIK expands beyond Poland into Slovakia

BLIK has officially expanded into Slovakia through BLIK SK (formerly VIAMO) by strengthening its partnership with one of the country’s largest banks. Over the coming months, BLIK will be rolled out in other slovak banks, allowing customers in Slovak online stores to pay with BLIK and securely confirm the transaction in their banking app.

This expansion demonstrates BLIK's ambition to become a universal payment solution available to banks in Slovakia, building on the massive adoption it has already achieved in Poland.

How BLIK works by customer type

Polish customers

Polish customers use BLIK through the payment flow they already know and trust. BLIK is currently integrated with 21 major Polish banks. The payment process is simple:

  1. Generate a one-time-6-digit code in the banking app
  2. Enter the code during checkout
  3. Confirm the payment in the banking app. 

Slovak customers

BLIK is available to customers of Tatra banks through the bank's VIAMO mobile application. The payment process works as follows:

  1. The customer generates a  one-time-6-digit code in VIAMO
  2. The code is entered at checkout
  3. The transaction is confirmed directly within the app.

After the first succesful payment with a specific merchant, the customer can save BLIK in VIAMO as a verified payment method. For future purchases with that merchant, no code is required. The customer only needs to confirm the transaction in the app.
