After officially joining Wero as a Member, Pay. has completed its first successful Wero test transaction. This marks an important step in the rollout of the payment solution to its customers.
Enschede, 18th September 2025 – Today, Pay. announces that it has successfully completed its first Wero transaction with a test merchant. This represents a significant milestone in its ambition to become one of the first payment service providers to include Wero in its payment portfolio.
Joining the European Payments Initiative (EPI) marks an important step forward in the evolution of digital payments across Europe and underscores Pay.’s commitment to offering best-in-class payment solutions to its customers. It not only demonstrates the technical maturity of the Wero system, but also highlights Pay.’s leading role in adopting the first pan-European, mobile-first payment standard. With this step, Pay. actively contributes from day one to Europe’s strategic autonomy in payments.
Through its collaboration with Wero, Pay. can offer a future-oriented, seamless, and secure payment solution for both businesses and consumers across Europe. With a single technical integration, merchants can accept payments from European consumers in participating markets and manage transactions end-to-end. This unified approach enhances the payment experience while reducing operational complexity for businesses.
At the end of 2025, Wero will be available via Pay. in Germany, followed by Belgium in the first half of 2026. The rollout in the Netherlands will start at the beginning of the second half of 2026, in line with the migration from iDEAL to Wero.
