Partner case Afosto: having all orders and product data in one place saves costs and time

In 2014, out of a growing demand for a solid omnichannel solution, the idea for Afosto was born. Initially, founders and childhood friends Tjeuke and Peter began their venture by tackling and solving development issues related to connecting POS systems to e-commerce platforms such as Magento and WordPress. Sander Kah, Sales & Marketing Manager at Afosto, adds: "Tjeuke and Peter were doing everything in the development field and wanted to do the linking of cash registers with webshops from one place in the best possible way. That's how Afosto was born."

A resilient and lightning-fast platform

Afosto is a SaaS platform aimed at ambitious entrepreneurs who want to grow in an efficient and scalable way. Afosto does this by offering an e-solution suitable for optimizing business processes using software. Think of connecting cash registers, instore screens and webshops through one system that allows retailers to sell both online and offline. Sander: "The advantage is that you have your orders and product data in one place and you don't have to manage this information in different places. A nice addition to this is that our platform works quickly and is flexible and fully composable."

By managing all your product data in one system and controlling your other channels from there, you save an enormous amount of time and costs. By being smart about your product specifications and data structures, you use Afosto as a central point in your organization to manage your product data. That way you don't have to log into different accounts and you don't spend time duplicating data.

There are many other players offering similar services. But the big difference with Afosto is that the company has all the knowledge and expertise in-house and puts personal contact first." We are a Dutch company with our own developers, consultants and marketers at our disposal. This allows us to distinguish ourselves in the level of service and onboarding with our competitors," says Sander. Afosto therefore schedules weekly sessions with customers and guides them through the onboarding process. Sander nods, "It can be quite time-consuming to connect all sales channels. We therefore always guarantee that, whatever the situation, we are there for our customers."

On a technical level, Pay. is very strong. They have a solid support team that responds quickly and maintains close contact with us. When our customers ask which integration we recommend, it is always the Afosto integration with Pay.

The best integration with the most functionality

As a SaaS platform, Afosto offers various solutions. Entrepreneurs have access to, among other things, all-in-one order management and a range of microservices that optimize online operations. In addition, the intelligent order management system allows them to save a great deal of time and costs. What more could an entrepreneur want? Sander laughs: “This covers a very broad range, but payments also play a major role in a company’s success. And that success can be achieved effortlessly with the integration we have with Pay.”

Sander explains that Afosto partnered with Pay. from the start-up phase to facilitate payments. “Pay. is service-oriented and resolves issues quickly. In addition, the PIN integration was exactly what we were looking for for our system. There are many Payment Service Providers that do not offer a PIN integration,” Sander says. “Now, several years later, we are still very happy to be working with Pay. Thanks to the PIN integration, customers can pay contactlessly in physical stores at retailers connected to our platform. They benefit from this collaboration because it simplifies their daily processes through a seamless integration. And they also benefit from the support Pay. provides in the area of payment methods.

Configuring Pay. within Afosto is very easy and quick to set up. After activating the plugin, you can choose which payment methods you want to enable, such as iDEAL, Bancontact or AfterPay. Customers can then start using these payment methods immediately.

'Headless, modular and configurable'

With Afosto’s flexible and scalable solutions, you might think the e-commerce platform already fully meets retailers’ needs. But… the SaaS platform is far from “fully grown.” “At the moment, we’re beta testing a new platform,” Sander says with a laugh. Afosto is moving towards headless and modular, configurable solutions that perform the same core functions, but offer even more functionality. Sander explains: “This further optimizes our customers’ business processes and makes them future-proof for order management, fulfilment, warehouse management and product data management.”

In the coming period, Afosto also plans to further develop PIN systems within the current platform. According to Sander, the customer (the retailer) always remains the starting point for (future) Afosto projects: “The idea is not for customers to completely overhaul their systems and switch to Afosto. What matters is that we complement a specific component or system that isn’t working well (or is causing issues). Ultimately, we want to grow together with entrepreneurs in a healthy, enjoyable and efficient way. That is at the heart of our approach and way of working.”

Are you looking for a Payment Service Provider? Then choose Pay! Our customers are very satisfied with the stable integration Pay. offers, and both the platform, the service, and the technical support are top-notch.
