Fixami customer case study: average order value doubles with in3

For 10 years Fixami Netherlands, the e-commerce specialist in power tool sales, and Pay. have been working together. Lieke Fransen, E-commerce Manager of Fixami, says: "10 years ago, the then HBL Online and Pay. were both in a growth phase. The no-nonsense attitude, good prices and fine contact then formed an excellent basis for cooperation. And now, 10 years later, we still have no regrets." Like Pay. Fixami has grown considerably during that period. Fixami's turnover, known in the Netherlands under the names Verfwebwinkel and Gereedschapcentrum, has now grown to more than a hundred million euros.

Expansion in product range and other countries.

In 2007, Gereedschapcentrum began selling used power tools online to professional users in the Netherlands. When this proved a success, the range was quickly expanded with new products, supplemented with other categories and brands, and websites were opened in Belgium and France under the name Fixami. The acquisition in 2022 of Verfwebwinkel is the most recent expansion. Fixami is a 'pure play e-commerce' player, although there is also a physical showroom attached to the warehouse in Tilburg.

Pay. handles the processing of both online and offline payments for Fixami. Thanks to the partnership with Pay. and in3, in3 has been added to the checkout. Lieke Fransen, e-commerce manager at Fixami: "Paying in installments was already very popular abroad. Especially for higher order amounts, the demand in the Netherlands for Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) and spread payments was also growing."

By offering the latest payment methods, Pay. ensures that Fixami can respond to the opportunities and possibilities created by emerging payment trends.

Let customers pay the way they want.

“We leave the choice of how to pay to the customer. We want to offer the payment options that are relevant to them. However, we do not want to carry the financial risk or set up the entire administrative structure required to collect installment payments,” Lieke explains.

“That is why we looked for a partner who could handle the entire process for us, with a transparent message to the customer and no additional costs afterward. in3 offered exactly that, was available through Pay., and was therefore easy to implement. The strong support and the opportunity to collaborate on how we can jointly improve the customer experience confirmed that in3 is a true partner in the field of installment payments and BNPL.”

Currently, 6% of total revenue is paid via in3. The average order value of purchases paid with in3 is more than twice as high as the average order value of orders paid with several other payment methods.

Lieke adds: “We clearly see that in3 is an important payment option for our customers, especially for higher order values.”

 

Moving into the Future with Pay.

According to Lieke, Fixami’s growth looks promising:

“There is still plenty planned for the coming years. We will soon migrate from Magento 2 to Shopware 6. At that point, we will operate on a completely new headless frontend and e-commerce platform. We are also creating a fully personalized shopping experience before, during, and after the purchase, and we will gradually and strategically expand internationally. So, many plans ahead. Fortunately, we know that Pay. is already prepared for this, thanks to the wide range of domestic and international payment methods they offer and the speed with which they respond to innovations.”
