The webshop is the most important channel

Emiel: "Most customers order through our webshop. It is also possible to submit orders via an API, but this method of ordering is only reserved for a small selection of customers who have designed a photo sales platform themselves. But I dare say that without a webshop we wouldn't be where we are today!"


Mix of payment methods

Profotonet's sales market mainly consists of Dutch and Belgian consumers. The payment methods that buyers can choose from are iDEAL, Bancontact and the major credit card companies. Credit cards are particularly important for the Belgian market, since Bancontact is not as commonly used in The Netherlands as iDEAL is.

We were introduced to PAY. at a webshop fair. We processed payments through another Payment Service Provider and on invoice, but PAY. offered us better rates and an opportunity to house all our sub-merchants with them. The biggest advantage is that all our customers can be managed via PAY. Implementation and workflow have thus become easier.

Crystal clear

"The connection between PAY. and our webshop was easy to realize, despite the fact that we do not use a standard e-commerce system. The documentation was very clear and straightforward. You can make the link as extensive as you want due to the diverse API. We however chose to keep it simple. But if we want to further automate our payment processes in the future, we have complete freedom to do so. That’s a great thought!" says Emiel.
