About the role

A great opportunity to completely build and shape a brand new People function and influence every aspect of the employee lifecycle. You will be joining a fast growing fintech payments company (PSP) on the eve of European expansion.

Responsibilities

As Head of People you will enable local and international success of PAY. in the coming years by an increased focus on our ability to attract, retain and develop talent. You will provide leadership to an innovative payments business, shaping the company's People strategy for the future. Working closely with the founder (COO) and the CEO & CCO to scale the company by hiring new talents and developing existing employees, improving all aspects of the employee lifecycle. We are looking for a real ‘builder’. The function is new and the department needs to be shaped from scratch. You will be able to build your people team from the ground up, starting with positions in recruitment, HR coordination and office management.

Overall you will be responsible for:

Attracting the right talent

  • Design and execute, together with a recruiter (to be hired) the Talent Acquisition strategy for the 3 locations Amsterdam/Enschede/Spijkenisse
  • Develop and implement PAY. employer-branding strategy, positioning us as employer of choice for (young) talent in the fintech industry
  • Coach our people leaders / managers to hire the best talent for their teams.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Design and roll-out the employee induction program
  • Ensure offboarding is a smooth experience

Learning and Development

  • Enable internal growth by offering the right training and coaching programs.
  • Coach people leaders to develop their people and to manage (non) performance.

Rewards, Recognition and Benefits

  • Design and implement the new Total Rewards compensation strategy
  • Review existing and where needed introduce new benefits, to align with our growth plans and employee needs.

Performance and Growth

  • Design and implement a Growth Framework, ensuring retention of talent by offering opportunities to grow and develop
  • Implement and ensure execution of the employee appraisal program

People Operations

  • Ensure the People department operates in a compliant and ethical manner
  • Integrating the teams of potential acquisitions into the broader organization
  • Oversee and manage People administration and documentation

Culture

  • Be an agent, gatekeeper and advocate of the PAY. DNA
  • PAY. DNA = Pragmatic, no-nonsense, focused, humble, caring, hands-on
  • Inspire employee engagement and keep people leaders focused on the important, not just the urgent
  • Manage a cultural shift in a growing team towards a professional people mindset

What we hope you bring to PAY.

  • People Leadership: Previous experience in a broad People leadership role, managing a (small) team of professionals.
  • Business Partner: Ability to act as a business partner to the CEO, COO and CCO and business leaders. Commercial acumen is very important
  • Excellent Communicator: Strength in building relationships throughout the company, influencing and inspiring passion and success in others.
  • HR Expert: Familiarity with Dutch HR practices and legislation, able to advise on complex HR matters. Understanding of HR trends and upcoming developments.
  • Strategic and Hands-on: Able to translate seeming complex HR challenges into tangible structures, frameworks and actions. Pragmatism is a must.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with HR tools and supporting-software.

Location: Amsterdam, Enschede or Spijkenisse.

Package: Competitive salary and a company car. Package will depend on relevant previous experience.
